In this production of Titanic, I was the Assistant Wardrobe Supervisor, assisting with paperwork and coordination. I helped to delegate duties and changes to our 6 dressers. I oversaw more than 100 quick changes and was the point person for actors and dressers during the 2 week run.
Setting up
We went to a few run throughs before tech and I timed every change
The plot was posted backstage and we added pencil notes as we went
I kept a folder on my person backstage that had actor’s piece lists color coded by dresser
We labeled chairs and baskets for the actors so everyone knew where to go
We had over 300 costume pieces and kept almost all costumes on deck since they were used for quick changes. Each dresser was assigned to 3-6 actors. We then assigned a rack/area to each dresser
We used the stairwell for 4 of the actors who had the most changes and had 2 dressers in there. We put hooks on the walls to have the next costume “on deck”
